Sound Deadening

    • Reduce road noise and vibration while driving

    • Limit noise inside the van from being heard outside

    • Before installing the material, clean all surfaces it will adhere to and treat any exposed metal or rust to prevent future corrosion

    • Use a roller to press the material down until the bubbled texture becomes flat

    • Remember to remove the door panels so sound deadening can be applied inside the doors too

    • Only 25% surface coverage is needed

    • I used two boxes (72 sq. ft.)

    • The material is relatively heavy

    • A slight asphalt smell may be noticeable for a few days after installation

    • Apply extra material to the wheel wells since this area tends to be noisier

    • Thicker material generally provides better vibration reduction

    • If installing in cooler weather, warming the adhesive with a hair dryer can help improve adhesion and ensure the material sticks properly

    • FatMat

    • Dynamat

    • Noico

  • I did notice a difference in sound once it was installed and would absolutely apply it again in a future build. While sound deadening won’t eliminate road noise completely, it helps reduce vibration and makes the van feel noticeably quieter.
